Deal furthers retailer’s international expansion plans

Starbucks Corp. (Seattle) has announced plans to open its first non-airport store in the Netherlands. The location, a joint venture with Servex BV (Utrecht, Netherlands), a food and beverage concessionaire in Dutch railway stations, will open in spring 2009 at Centraal Station in Amsterdam.

The coffee retailer, who is hoping international expansion will offset difficult conditions in the U.S., said it would focus on railway stations while considering other ways to develop its presence in the Netherlands. "It provides Starbucks with a strong platform to further expand across the Netherlands," said Martin Coles, newly reinstalled president of Starbucks Coffee Intl. More than 1.1 million passengers a day reportedly ride the train in the Netherlands.

The Servex partnership is similar to another deal Starbucks signed in June with SSP Ltd. (Halifax, U.K.) to put Starbucks locations in more than 150 airport and rail stations in France, Germany and Great Britain. Starbucks also holds partnerships with HMSHost Corp. (Bethesda, Md.) and Autogrill SpA (Rozzano, Italy). Starbucks' three locations at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport are operated by HMSHost through a licensing agreement.

The concept is minimalism. Very simple in design and straight forward. Simplicity with a twist of touch, that captivate the hearts of some.

Simplicity

Being simple.
How do you be simple?
Perhaps one could project themselve through attire, words or even lifestyle.

Still the inner person who is simple, ask not of much from this world. Seek not many desires and dreams from the world. Lost the interest but yet enjoys dwelling in this earth, because everything shall be given to without worries about tomorrow by the requirement of expectation.

A person who is much more realistic in life itself, whereby circumstances and situations doesn't effect them. Which is maturity, being part of the person's character.
His undivided and invinsible senses, hearing, sight, perception and even entrustment within that person, is sensitive to every minute of the day that passes by the person.

Ask not for much money, and desire not for it.
As money will come after the person. Money is practically lifeless.
If money becomes a life to a person, it has actually shaded the vision of a person.
Is needed and required, yet could also change a person 180 degrees if not careful with it.

One doesn't wish to step into that realm of illusion and temptation, that will diverge a person's end.
Reality is somehow related to simplicity. Simplicity always comes with the lifeful force, that is not easy to be explain.

The word is BE WELL, BE SIMPLE and truth is real.

Maturity

The sky was beautiful and sunny with a cold breeze flowing through the cloudy weather. At that moment, I was looking out the windows and wondering about the world, when I was staring towards the sea through that window, everthing seems to be pretty nice and cooling as where I was standing, in that living room. In fact I had always been wondering about answers in people's behaviour and character or perhaps my very own character.
Just for example, seeing through that window as if its the 'eye' into people's heart & mind (the sea represents people's heart and mind/ circumstances and situations)

How do I deceifer this "scenery"? What were the answers?
There weren't any answers for me at that moment.

As I was wondering, then my friend came in to the living room. We started a short conversation about the sea and their lives of interest to stay by the sea. While she was sharing about her life before she got married, I "realize" most people are uncertain about their lifes at the start. They walk through life by finding places or things of interest to entertain themselve or keep themselve occupied to go through life itself without a true meaning in life. The hopes and dreams just to fullfill their "dreams of joy and amusement" which they wished or dreamed of when they were younger. I, myself is not spared from this either.

When people grew older, they "realize" and begin to settle down. That is how she said. That she had enough time travelling around the world and she is tired"

The point is we're just human beings, everything is just temporal. A person will only realize what they want if they think that is what they wanted at first, but at a certain point of life, they will realize that is not what they wish for anymore. (Not everybody will understand what I'm trying to say)

The truth is I've found the answer to all this questions - at LAST. The answer will be kept within me, only to be known to others if they seek for it. This answer is very valuable to me, as many might not appreciate it.

For I only wish to seek and find maturity through this truth, as it has given me a more realistic maturity then physical maturity itself.

Mindset - Desire - Interest

I've never written about personal stuff online. So why bother, because its none of anybody's business. Nobody wants to know.

Therefore I would rather include stuff like, BUSINESS that makes money, which everybody is so keen and selfish for their own needs with their life on earth.

You see, people are practically selfish. So am I? Yar... I assume it is.

money, food, leisure, stuff and etc.

Everybody is more concern for their ends needs and what ever crap on earth.

So what interest another party to be attracted to another party is the... interest in mind? correct?

Life on earth is very ambigious. There is only one reason that serves a purpose that overwrites all this selfishness, and that is for you to find out yourself!

New Government study to explore the future use of land

The Government's 'futures' think-tank has announced a two-year investigation into the future use of land in the UK.

This initiative will be carried out by the Government's Foresight team, which is in the Government Office for Science within the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.

PETALING JAYA: Few drivers realise that they can renew their driving licences online without having to leave the comfort of their homes.

And for a small fee, they can even have their licence renewal slip delivered to them by registered mail or courier.

With few knowing about the facility available on the Road Transport Department's (JPJ) website since April last year, the response to the online renewal service has been poor.

JPJ director-general Datuk Ahmad Mustapha Abdul Rashid said only 687 people renewed their licences online so far, way short of the 1,000-driver target expected in the first year of implementation. Every year, some seven million motorist renew their licences.

“Maybe it is because it has not been promoted enough by the e-services (concessionaires).

“But hopefully things will pick up. Malaysians are a bit sceptical at first (about new technology), but later on they will accept and use it, like on-line banking,” he told The Star.

He also added that there were 11 million Competent Driver’s Licence (CDL) holders in the country.

Drivers' may renew their CDL by accessing the JPJ website at www.jpj.gov.my, and clicking on the CDL Renewal Online link.

Applicants need to provide the usual personal particulars, such as their MyKad number, licence expiry date and their mobile phone number.

Via the online form, they can choose to renew their licences from one to five years, as well as decide on how they would like to collect and pay for the renewal slip.

The fee remain the same – a renewal fee of RM30 per year and a processing fee of RM2. Drivers who want their licences delivered to them will be charged a small delivery fee between RM5 and RM10, depending on location.

Those who do not want the renewal slip may head to any state JPJ branch to upload the renewal information into their MyKad.

Applicants can also choose to collect their renewal slip from one of the many e-service centres in the country, which are operated by e-services concessionaires MyEG Services Bhd and mySPEED Sdn Bhd. Payment can be made via credit card, or electronic online payment systems such as e-cash and e-debit.

Ahmad Mustapha assured users that the system was secure and reliable.

“So far, I haven’t heard anything about the system going down. And it is safe to provide your financial details. There have been no complaints,” he said.

By renewing their licences online, drivers will no longer have to worry about forgetting to renew their licences in future, as the system will send a reminder via SMS to the mobile phone number provided
